Oh gosh are we excited to welcome Yana Sanamyantz next week for a swing dance residency in Cape Town!
Jazz dancer extraordinaire and great friend of the CTS scene, Yana Sanamyantz, arrives next week for a full 3-month residency with her partner, to get stuck into the dance community here by offering classes, workshops and private lessons!
We’ve had several residencies in Cape Town over the years (including the Decavitas, Meghan Gilmore and Thomas Blacharz) and they make a huge difference to motivate and challenge us to step up our dancing. People in our scene today still talk about residencies we had eight years ago and the inspiration they felt.
About Yana:
Yana is a jazz (swing) dancer, performer, teacher and DJ. She grew up surrounded by jazz and discovered dancing much later. She fell in love with the swing dance scene from her first lindy hop lesson and started devoting all her time to music and dancing. Raised with love in the Moscow Swing Dance Society, she soon became a teacher there and, within a few years, started to travel as an international dance instructor. Yana shares joy, respect and love for the dance with her students in everything she does.
