Classes
Classes take place in the Pavilion and Farmhouse lounge, with levels as follows:
Beginner: New to Lindy Hop or need a refresher? Join our Beginner Crash Course in Cape Town two weeks before the event, so you’ll arrive with some basics under your belt. At Swing Camp, you’ll have beginner-friendly classes throughout the weekend, covering essential steps, technique, and confidence-building for the social floor.
Improver: You’ve completed all of our 4-week Beginner Blocks (or equivalent workshops) and are somewhat comfortable with the fundamentals of Lindy Hop: including swing outs and 8-count vocab, tuck-turns and other 6-count basics, Charleston, and solo jazz.
Intermediate: You’ve been taking Intermediate classes for a while, love social dancing, and feel confident and creative with swing outs, variations, Charleston, and different rhythm basics. You can jam solo to swing music.
Advanced: You’re super comfortable social dancing all of the vocabulary taught at Intermediate level and are ready for challenges that go above and beyond.
All Levels: These classes are open to everyone and often focus on solo jazz or other styles from the Swing Era.
Most classes will take place in parallel. We’ll ask for your level preference when you register, to help us allocate classes to the appropriate venues.
Food
All meals are plant-based, served in De Perdestal, a beautifully restored stable with indoor and outdoor dining. Expect:
🥣 Breakfast: Muesli/oats, plant milk, fruit.
🥗 Lunch & Dinner: Legume-based dishes, rice, fresh vegetables.
🍏 Snacks: Fruit available throughout the day.
☕ Coffee (decent instant), tea, and oat milk provided.
Allergies & Intolerances: We cannot cater to personal preferences or mild intolerances, but if you have a serious allergy, contact us before 14 October, and we'll do our best to accommodate you. The Farmhouse has a large kitchen if you’d like to prepare additional meals or snacks.
